Sharing an auction account starts with deciding who should have access and what they need to do. In BidCentral, business owners can manage account assignments and customer access while customers use their own access details.
Assign the right account
Open the customer's account assignments and check which auction accounts should be available. Keep the assignment specific to that customer's needs. If an account is shared through a broker, check the broker's account access as well.
Keep app access and web login clear
A customer access code is used in the BidCentral app. A customer web workspace uses its own login and password. Explain which access method the customer should use so that they do not try an app code in a web password field.
Review permissions before inviting
Check the customer's page capabilities and account assignments together. A page permission controls whether a page is available, while account and customer rules control which records it contains. A role name alone does not make every business record visible.
- Confirm the assigned accounts.
- Review the pages available to the customer.
- Check the intended invoice visibility.
- Send the correct app or web access instructions.
Update access when relationships change
When a customer no longer needs an account, review and remove the assignment. If the customer's login should no longer be usable, review the membership and account activation settings too. Use the same process for broker-managed customers, with the broker's current assignments in view.
Make the first login easier
Ask the customer to open their assigned-account page after signing in. Confirm that the expected accounts appear and that the available pages match the access you intended. Resolve missing assignments before asking the customer to repeat the login process.
Questions answered
Is a customer app access code the same as a web password?
No. Customers use their access code in the BidCentral app and their web login credentials for the customer workspace.
